Governor and Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has presented the party’s flag to the APC Chairmanship candidate for Ezza South Local Government Area, Barr. Chinedu Nwankpuma, and his running mate ahead of the August 22, 2026 local government elections.
The flag presentation took place during the APC Local Government Campaign Flag-off held at the Onueke Township Stadium, where party leaders and supporters gathered to kick-start the campaign.

Represented by the Deputy Governor, Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila, GCEHF, Governor Nwifuru urged residents of Ezza South to come out in large numbers on election day and vote for APC candidates across all polling units.
The Governor commended the Executive Chairman of Ezza South Local Government Area, Chief Mrs. Euphemia Nwali, for what he described as an outstanding performance during her four-year administration. He praised her execution of people-oriented projects and noted that her administration had effectively aligned with his People’s Charter of Needs development agenda.
Governor Nwifuru also expressed appreciation to APC stakeholders in Ezza South for their commitment to the party and called on them to ensure a resounding victory for the APC in the forthcoming council election.

Speaking at the event, Chief Mrs. Nwali highlighted the Governor’s developmental achievements across the state, stating that her administration had complemented the state government’s vision through impactful grassroots projects. She assured party leaders that Ezza South remains a stronghold of the APC and pledged that voters would reward the Governor’s goodwill with overwhelming support at the polls.
The Ebonyi State APC Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, expressed confidence in the political maturity of the people of Ezza South, saying the party’s performance in government would translate into massive electoral support.
Also speaking, the member representing Ikwo/Ezza South Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Chinedu Ogah, OON, commended the unwavering loyalty of the people to the APC and applauded Governor Nwifuru’s developmental interventions across the constituency.
Other dignitaries who addressed the gathering included the Chairman of the Occasion, Chief Lazarus Ogbee; Chairman of the State APC Local Government Campaign Council, Amb. Frank Ogbuewu; State APC Deputy Chairman, Hon. Alphonsus Nwali; Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Chief Oguzorkanu Offia-Nwali; Director of FERMA, South-East, Dr. Kenneth Ugbala; and Chief Chibuike Orogwu (Iam Babyoku). They unanimously reaffirmed the readiness of Ezza South people to deliver victory for APC candidates in the August 22 local government election.
In his acceptance speech, the APC Chairmanship candidate, Barr. Chinedu Nwankpuma, promised to promote unity, empower young people, and consolidate on the developmental achievements of the outgoing administration if elected. He appealed to the electorate for their support and confidence.

Before the campaign rally, the Deputy Governor, on behalf of Governor Nwifuru, commissioned several projects executed by the Ezza South Local Government administration. The projects include 67 modern lock-up shops at Eke Imoha Market, 50 lock-up shops at Oriegbe Market, and the Okoffia–Nsokkara Concrete Road Project.
The projects are expected to boost economic activities, improve infrastructure, and enhance the living standards of residents across the local government area.
