The Ebonyi State Small and Medium Enterprise Development Agency (EBSMEDA), in collaboration with the Association of Mobile Money and Bank Agents in Nigeria (AMMBAN), will on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, host a symposium aimed at promoting financial inclusion, enterprise development and digital economic empowerment in Ebonyi State.
The symposium, themed “Accelerating Financial Inclusion, Enterprise Development and Digital Economic Empowerment for Sustainable Growth in Ebonyi State,” is scheduled to commence at 10:00 a.m. at the Staff Development Centre, Kpirikpiri, Abakaliki.
The event is expected to provide participants with practical opportunities and support aimed at strengthening small businesses and expanding access to digital financial services across the state.
Among the opportunities to be made available at the symposium are free Point-of-Sale (POS) devices for empowerment, free SIM cards, and training on Bank Verification Number (BVN) enrolment, as well as the handing over of National Identification Number (NIN) enrolment devices to selected AMMBAN members.
Other empowerment opportunities and initiatives are also expected to be unveiled during the programme.
The symposium will feature presentations by Dr. Obioha Oti, National President of AMMBAN; Dr. Stephen Odoh, Director-General of EBSMEDA; and Mr. Michael Obafemi, National Programme Director of AMMBAN.
The organisers said the initiative is designed to contribute to the expansion of financial access, support entrepreneurship and promote digital economic participation, particularly among small and medium-scale enterprises and financial service agents.
Members of the public, entrepreneurs, aspiring business owners, mobile money and bank agents, and other stakeholders are encouraged to attend and take advantage of the opportunities available at the symposium.
The organisers urged participants to be part of the collective drive to advance financial inclusion, enterprise growth and sustainable economic development in Ebonyi State.
