The National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the commencement of 25 undergraduate programmes at the University of Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering, Ezza, Ebonyi State, for the 2026/2027 academic session.
The approval marks a major milestone in the development of the institution and significantly expands its academic offerings across engineering, science, computing, and business management disciplines.
According to the approval, the Faculty of Engineering will offer twelve programmes, including Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial and Production Engineering, Materials and Metallurgical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Polymer and Composite Engineering, and Civil Engineering.Under the Faculty of Science, the university will run seven programmes: Physics with Electronics, Pure and Applied Chemistry, Industrial Mathematics, Statistics, Meteorology, Forensic Science, and Microbiology.
The Faculty of Computing received approval for four programmes: Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, and Cybersecurity.In addition, the Faculty of Business Management will offer Business Management and Psychology.
The approval is widely regarded as a significant boost to higher education development in Ebonyi State and a major step toward positioning the institution as a centre of excellence in science, technology, engineering, and innovation.
Observers noted that the development aligns with the educational advancement agenda of the Ebonyi State Government under the leadership of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, whose administration has continued to support initiatives aimed at expanding access to quality education and strengthening human capital development across the state.
Reacting to the approval, the university management expressed profound gratitude to the National Universities Commission and all stakeholders who contributed to the achievement.

With the approval now secured, the university is set to admit students into the newly accredited programmes beginning from the 2026/2027 academic session.
