The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Ebonyi State Chapter, has declared its unwavering support for the re-election of Governor Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, citing the administration’s impressive performance across critical sectors of the state’s economy.
The declaration was made on Wednesday during a solidarity visit by the NYCN leadership, led by its State Chairman, Comrade Douglas Ochishi, to the Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Abakaliki.
The youth delegation was received by the Ebonyi State APC Chairman, Hon. Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, in what observers described as a significant demonstration of growing youth confidence in Governor Nwifuru’s administration.
Speaking during the visit, Comrade Ochishi said the council’s endorsement was informed by the visible achievements recorded by the governor since assuming office.
He noted that the administration has embarked on extensive infrastructural development projects, including road construction and urban renewal initiatives that have positively transformed communities across the state.
The NYCN Chairman also highlighted the government’s economic policies, which he said have boosted local commerce, empowered entrepreneurs, and created an enabling environment for business growth and job creation.
On education, the youth body commended Governor Nwifuru for investing in school rehabilitation, teacher recruitment, scholarship programmes, and other interventions aimed at improving access to quality education and enhancing learning outcomes.
Responding, Hon. Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha expressed appreciation to the youth council for the visit and their show of confidence in the governor’s leadership.
He described the endorsement as evidence of the strong connection between the administration’s people-oriented policies, anchored on the Ebonyi People’s Charter of Needs, and the aspirations of the state’s young population.
According to Emegha, Governor Nwifuru’s leadership is defined by tangible achievements and a commitment to inclusive governance.
He assured the youth council that the APC remains dedicated to promoting youth participation in leadership and decision-making processes.
The APC Chairman further urged the youths to sustain their advocacy for continuity, emphasizing that the governor’s developmental agenda requires consistent support to achieve its long-term objectives.
As part of the visit, the NYCN pledged to mobilize support for Governor Nwifuru’s re-election across the 13 local government areas of the state, reaffirming its commitment to advancing what it described as a shared vision for greater development and prosperity in Ebonyi.
The visit concluded with a renewed commitment from both the youth body and the APC leadership to work together in promoting good governance, youth inclusion, and sustainable development in the state.
