The Ebonyi State Government has approved the 2026 promotion and conversion exercise for all qualified civil servants in the state.
The approval was granted by the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, as part of the administration’s commitment to enhancing the welfare, career progression, and productivity of the state workforce.
According to a public service announcement issued by the Chairman of the Ebonyi State Civil Service Commission, Lady Virginia Okemini Oketa, the exercise will take place from July 2 to July 17, 2026, at the Civil Service Commission Complex, Block 10, Centenary City, Abakaliki.
The commission directed all eligible officers to report to the venue by 9:00 a.m. on their scheduled dates.
The promotion exercise will commence on Thursday, July 2, with officials from the State Internal Revenue Service, Ministries of Infrastructural Development, Education, Women Affairs, Youth Development and Sports, Information and State Orientation, as well as the State Council on Procurement, State Sports Council, and Ebonyi State College of Health Sciences.
Subsequent days have been allocated to various Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), including the Ministries of Justice, Finance and Economic Development, Environment, Agriculture and Natural Resources, Health, Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, and the Ministry of Aviation and Transport Technology, among others.
The conversion exercise is scheduled to begin on July 14 and will run through July 17, covering eligible officers from several MDAs, including the Ministries of Women Affairs, Justice, Works, Finance, Health, Agriculture, Environment, Information and State Orientation, as well as the Governor’s Office, Head of Service, Fiscal Responsibility Commission, Ebonyi State Internal Revenue Service, and other government establishments.
The final two days, July 16 and 17, have been designated for a mop-up exercise to accommodate eligible officers who may have missed their scheduled dates.
The Civil Service Commission urged all affected civil servants to adhere strictly to the timetable to ensure a smooth, transparent, and hitch-free exercise.
