The Special Assistant to the Governor of Ebonyi State on New Media, Mr. Leo Ekene Oketa, has said that Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s inclusive leadership style is the driving force behind the peace, unity, and steady development being witnessed across the state.
Oketa made the assertion in a goodwill message to mark the beginning of the month of August, reflecting on what he described as the Governor’s deliberate efforts to unite political stakeholders and foster a peaceful atmosphere for governance.
According to him, the inspiration for his remarks came from an early morning conversation with a close associate who, after observing several respected elders gathered peacefully in one place, expressed admiration for the Governor’s ability to bring people together.
The associate reportedly asked, “How does the Governor do all of this? How is he able to bring stakeholders across the state together with such harmony? Now, Ebonyi is truly a one-party state.”
Responding to the question, Oketa attributed the prevailing unity in the state to Governor Nwifuru’s leadership approach, which he said is built on respect, consultation, and inclusiveness.
“We have a leader who understands that our stakeholders are among our greatest assets. He respects them, listens to them, carries them along, and runs an inclusive administration. That is one of the reasons Ebonyi enjoys an unrivalled atmosphere of peace today,” he said.
The Governor’s aide stressed that peace in governance is never accidental but the outcome of deliberate policies that encourage dialogue, mutual respect, and broad stakeholder participation.
He noted that the peaceful environment in Ebonyi has continued to create opportunities for accelerated development, explaining that peace enhances investor confidence, promotes community cooperation, strengthens public institutions, and enables government to concentrate on delivering critical infrastructure and essential social services rather than managing conflicts.
Oketa further maintained that the peace currently enjoyed across Ebonyi State reflects Governor Nwifuru’s commitment to inclusive governance, adding that the administration has continued to unite people across political, social, and generational divides.
According to him, while infrastructure projects and economic development remain important indicators of progress, the preservation of peace remains one of the greatest achievements of any government.
He concluded by wishing the people of Ebonyi State a peaceful and prosperous month of August, expressing optimism that the state would continue on its path of unity, stability, and sustainable development under Governor Nwifuru’s leadership.
