The Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has commiserated with former lawmaker and political leader, Rt. Hon. Linus Abaa Okorie, over the death of his father, Late Pa Okaji Simon Okorie Abaa, describing the deceased as a man whose life reflected integrity, hard work, resilience, and commitment to family values.
Governor Nwifuru stated this during the funeral Mass held in honour of the late patriarch at Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
Represented by his Deputy, Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila, GCEHF, the Governor paid glowing tribute to Late Pa Okaji Abaa, noting that his contributions and exemplary lifestyle had left behind a legacy worthy of emulation by generations.
He commended the Okorie Abaa family for giving their patriarch a dignified and befitting burial, while also appreciating the Catholic clergy for their comforting words and spiritual guidance during the funeral service.
Governor Nwifuru prayed God to grant the soul of the departed eternal rest and provide the bereaved family with the strength and courage to endure the loss.
The funeral ceremony attracted prominent personalities, including former Governor of Ebonyi State, Senator Dr. Sam Ominyi Egwu, members of the Ebonyi State Executive Council, government officials, political leaders, and other stakeholders from across the state.
The gathering served as a testament to the respect and honour accorded to the late Pa Okaji Simon Okorie Abaa for his contributions to his family and community.
