As the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign train arrives in Onicha Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, the party has presented its Chairmanship candidate, Hon. Ikechukwu Ogbofia, as a tested grassroots leader seeking a second term on the strength of his record in office.
Ogbofia’s first tenure, according to the campaign, has been marked by purposeful leadership, peace-building and a commitment to grassroots development, providing the basis for his bid to continue in office.
His leadership experience spans several years of political and community engagement. He previously served as APC Youth Leader of Abaomege Ward, Special Assistant to the former Executive Chairman of Onicha Local Government Area, and Special Assistant on Youth Mobilization to the Governor of Ebonyi State.
The campaign said these experiences have equipped Ogbofia with a broad understanding of grassroots politics and governance, while his leadership style has been characterised by humility, accessibility and responsiveness to the needs of the people.
It described his second-term bid as an opportunity to consolidate the gains of his first tenure, sustain ongoing initiatives and pursue further development across Onicha Local Government Area.
According to the statement, Ogbofia’s candidacy offers the people of Onicha continuity under a leader whose experience and performance are already known to them.
“As the APC campaign train arrives in Onicha, the party presents a tested leader, a proven performer and a candidate whose record speaks for him,” the statement said.
The campaign added that the message to the people of Onicha is centred on continuity and building on the foundation laid during Ogbofia’s first tenure.
“One good term, they say, deserves another. Onicha is moving forward with Ogbofia Ikechukwu,” the statement concluded.
