Ebonyi State Civil Service Commission has commenced a mop-up confirmation exercise for civil servants recruited two years ago by Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru into the state civil service.
The exercise, which began earlier this week, is aimed at ensuring that eligible workers complete the necessary confirmation procedures and advance in their careers within the state civil service.
Governor Nwifuru has employed approximately 2,000 Ebonyi indigenes into various sectors of the civil service as part of his administration’s efforts to strengthen the workforce, address manpower shortages and enhance service delivery across government institutions.
The ongoing confirmation exercise represents another step towards consolidating the recruitment initiative by providing eligible workers with the opportunity to secure the necessary confirmation of their appointments and progress in their public service careers.
Beyond recruitment and confirmation, the Nwifuru administration has also prioritised promotion and conversion within the civil service, reflecting its commitment to building a more efficient, organised and responsive workforce.
The initiatives are expected to improve staff morale, encourage professional growth and strengthen the capacity of government institutions to deliver quality services to the people of Ebonyi State.
Reacting to the development, Leo Ekene Oketa, Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, expressed appreciation to Governor Nwifuru for his continued commitment to the welfare and career advancement of civil servants in the state.
Oketa also congratulated Ebonyi workers on the development, describing the ongoing exercise as a positive step towards ensuring career progression and strengthening the state’s public service.
He expressed optimism that the administration’s continued attention to recruitment, confirmation, promotion and conversion would contribute to a more effective civil service and the overall development of Ebonyi State.
