The Wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Chief Mrs. Mary-Maudline Uzoamaka Nwifuru, has joined the Wife of the President, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, CON, and other dignitaries at the launch of the South-South National Community Food Bank in Cross River State.
Mrs. Nwifuru joined the Governor of Cross River State, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, his wife, Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, and First Ladies from across the country in warmly welcoming Senator Oluremi Tinubu to the state for the landmark event.
The launch of the South-South National Community Food Bank is aimed at strengthening food security, supporting vulnerable families and improving the wellbeing of communities across the region.
The Ebonyi First Lady also witnessed the commissioning of an Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Centre at the University of Cross River State.
The facility is expected to expand opportunities for digital education, innovation, skills development and youth empowerment, while contributing to efforts to prepare young people for the demands of the digital economy.
Mrs. Nwifuru described the occasion as a memorable day of service, collaboration and progress, noting the importance of initiatives that directly impact lives and contribute to national development.
She further commended Cross River State for its commitment to programmes and projects aimed at improving the welfare of its people and advancing development across the state and the South-South region.
The event brought together government officials, First Ladies, distinguished personalities and other stakeholders in support of initiatives focused on food security, digital development and community empowerment.
