The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday took its local government campaign to Afikpo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, presenting the incumbent Chairman, Engr. Timothy Nwachi, as its candidate for a second term in office.
The party described Nwachi as a proven performer whose first tenure has been characterised by impactful leadership, grassroots development, and a commitment to improving the lives of the people of Afikpo.
According to the APC, the Chairman has distinguished himself through responsible governance, administrative competence, and a people-oriented approach that has earned him the confidence of residents and the party leadership.
Before his election as Chairman of Afikpo Local Government Area, Engr. Nwachi served as Director-General of the Ebonyi State Broadcasting Corporation and later as Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor of Ebonyi State. In both positions, he was said to have demonstrated professionalism, diligence, and effective public service.
The party further noted that Nwachi’s decision to seek re-election reflects the confidence reposed in him by the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, and the APC, adding that his endorsement underscores the administration’s commitment to rewarding performance and sustaining grassroots development.
Describing the chairman as calm, intelligent, accessible, and result-oriented, the APC urged the people of Afikpo to renew his mandate at the polls, stressing that continuity would consolidate the developmental gains recorded during his first term.
As the APC campaign train arrived in Afikpo, party faithful and supporters were encouraged to rally behind Engr. Nwachi, whom the party described as a tested and trusted leader with the vision and experience to further deepen the dividends of democracy in the local government area.
