The people of Ebonyi State on Monday unanimously endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as their sole presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, reaffirming their support for his re-election bid during a grand rally held at the Pa Ngele Oruta Township Stadium, Abakaliki.
The endorsement was formally moved by former Governor Martin Elechi and seconded by former President of the Senate, Anyim Pius Anyim.

The motion cited President Tinubu’s achievements in office, his commitment to national development, and his administration’s inclusion of Ebonyi State in key federal projects and appointments.
Addressing the large gathering, Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru described the adoption of President Tinubu as Ebonyi’s sole presidential candidate as a demonstration of the state’s commitment to a united, stable, and prosperous Nigeria.

According to the governor, the President’s policies are deliberately designed to foster shared prosperity and national development, a vision that aligns with the aspirations of the people of Ebonyi State.
Governor Nwifuru noted that his administration has leveraged the Federal Government’s initiatives to deliver impactful projects and improve governance in the state.

He called on political stakeholders across party lines to unite behind President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
“Mr President has shown us love. We are gathered here to endorse him for a second term and to tell the world that we have no other presidential candidate outside President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the governor declared.

He further commended the President for initiating and completing federal projects in Ebonyi State, while maintaining the ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and strengthening internal democracy within the party.
Speaking at the event, APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, described the endorsement as strategic and reflective of Governor Nwifuru’s alignment with the developmental aspirations of the people.

He praised the governor for investing heavily in education and infrastructure, noting that the administration is building new universities, roads, bridges, and other critical projects that are transforming the state.
According to Yilwatda, Ebonyi’s growing road network has strengthened connectivity with neighbouring Benue and Cross River states, while ongoing investments in human capital development continue to position the state for sustainable growth.

“The crowd here today confirms that Governor Nwifuru remains committed to the ideals and manifesto of our great party,” he said.
As part of activities marking the occasion, Professor Yilwatda commissioned the Senior Staff Quarters at the ICT University, Oferekpe Agbaja.

The three-storey facility, named in honour of the pioneer Vice-Chancellor of Ebonyi State University, Professor Fidelis Ogah, comprises 48 three-bedroom flats designed to accommodate senior academic and non-academic staff of the institution.
The APC National Chairman described the project as a monumental investment in education, noting that it reflects the governor’s commitment to human capital development and the advancement of tertiary education in the state.

The event also featured goodwill messages from the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, and the Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Mbah, who was represented by his deputy, Barrister Ifeanyi Ossai.
In addition, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, inaugurated the Ebonyi State and Local Government Coordinators of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, further underscoring the party’s preparations ahead of the 2027 elections.
