The Ebonyi State Government, through the Ebonyi State Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (EBSMEDA), has announced a one-week free digital skills training programme aimed at equipping young Ebonyians with practical skills for the emerging digital economy.
The training, organised in collaboration with Mutech Afrique under the FON4-TECH Initiative, will expose participants to Web Development, Graphic Design, Web3 and AI Automation.
According to a statement issued by the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Leo Ekene Oketa, the training will hold from September 14 to 18, 2026, at the Staff Development Centre, Kpirikpiri, Abakaliki, beginning at 10:00 a.m. daily.
The programme is being implemented under the leadership of the Director-General of EBSMEDA, Dr. Stephen Odoh, as part of efforts to strengthen entrepreneurship, innovation and digital capacity among young people in the state.
The initiative is expected to provide participants with practical knowledge and skills that can enhance their employability, support entrepreneurship and enable them to take advantage of opportunities in the rapidly expanding digital economy.
The state government said the programme reflects Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration’s continued commitment to human capital development and youth empowerment by providing Ebonyians with relevant skills and knowledge for sustainable economic participation.
EBSMEDA said the training would also contribute to the development of Ebonyi’s entrepreneurial and technological ecosystem by helping young people transition from job seekers to skilled professionals, innovators and entrepreneurs.
Registration for the free training is currently open.
