Ebonyi State Governor, Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has reaffirmed that the state is open to both foreign and local investments, describing Ebonyi as one of Nigeria’s safest destinations for investors.
The governor made the declaration on Sunday at the Government House Chapel in Abakaliki while giving an account of his nine-day working visit to China, where he led a state delegation on an investment drive.
Governor Nwifuru said the visit was highly successful, revealing that the delegation held productive engagements with government officials and prospective investors in China’s Hunan and Jiangxi provinces.
“The outcome of our visit to China was fruitful. It was by the grace of God that we were able to accomplish so much,” the governor said.
He disclosed that the Chinese government and investors expressed strong interest in partnering with the Ebonyi State Government to drive economic development through strategic investments.
“During the visit, we were received by the governments of Hunan and Jiangxi. They made tremendous remarks about their interest in investing in and partnering with us to develop Ebonyi State,” he stated.
Governor Nwifuru attributed the significant political and economic progress recorded by his administration over the past three years to divine guidance, the prayers of the people, and the unwavering support of stakeholders across the state.
“We are not perfect, but we pray for more grace to keep pushing for the greater good of this state. It is the grace of God that has been protecting and guiding us. Your prayers and practical support have helped us make tangible progress,” he said.
The governor also commended the Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese, Bishop Ernest Obodo, for his leadership and commitment to fostering harmony between the Church and the government.
“I sincerely thank our dear Bishop. I have observed that he is calm, peaceful, and a man after God’s own heart. We appreciate him for joining us in worship today,” Nwifuru added.
Addressing growing political speculations ahead of the 2027 general elections, the governor urged residents to remain focused and avoid unnecessary distractions, assuring them that governance in the state remains on course.
“The wheel of governance is running smoothly until 2031. Let us not worry for nothing; let us continue to believe in God,” he said.
Governor Nwifuru reiterated his administration’s commitment to creating an enabling environment for investment, economic growth, and sustainable development, emphasizing that Ebonyi remains ready to welcome investors seeking opportunities in the state.
