The Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has commissioned a number of legacy projects executed by the Ezza North Local Government Council and presented the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag to the party’s chairmanship candidate, Barr. Friday Nwuhuo, ahead of the August 22, 2026 local government elections.
The commissioning and campaign rally took place on Wednesday at Ebiaji, the headquarters of Ezza North Local Government Area, where party leaders and supporters called on residents to vote overwhelmingly for all APC candidates in the forthcoming council elections.

Represented by his Deputy, Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila, GCEHF, Governor Nwifuru commended the outgoing Council Chairman, Chief Moses Ogodo-Ali Nomeh, for what he described as signature infrastructural projects that align with his administration’s People’s Charter of Needs agenda.
Among the projects commissioned were the 2-span Koko-Onucha Bridge in Ogboji Community, ultra-modern classroom blocks at Joint Community School, Achiagu, and the 2-kilometre Nwachi/Achiagu Concrete Road Project.
At the campaign rally, the Governor’s representative presented the APC flag to Barr. Friday Nwuhuo and his vice-chairmanship running mate, urging the incoming administration to build on the achievements of the outgoing council and surpass its record in service delivery.

The APC State Chairman, Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, highlighted the developmental support extended to Ezza North by the Nwifuru administration and urged residents to demonstrate their support for the party through a massive turnout at the polls.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the State APC Local Government Campaign Council, Amb. Frank Ogbuewu, alongside the member representing Ezza North/Ishielu Federal Constituency, Hon. Joseph Nwobashi, Chief Ikeuwa Omebeh, Commissioner for Information, and Hon. Victor Chukwu, Commissioner for Water Resources, expressed confidence in the party’s chances, describing Ezza North as a strong APC constituency.
The outgoing Council Chairman, Chief Moses Ogodo-Ali Nomeh, expressed appreciation to Governor Nwifuru for what he described as his commitment to local government financial autonomy, saying the policy enabled his administration to execute impactful projects across the council area.

Nomeh assured the Governor and the APC leadership of the people’s continued support, pledging that Ezza North would deliver massive votes for the party in the August 22 election.
In his remarks, the APC chairmanship candidate, Barr. Friday Nwuhuo, promised to run an inclusive, visionary and service-oriented administration if elected, while pledging to consolidate on the achievements recorded by the outgoing council administration.
The event was attended by APC leaders, government officials, party supporters and residents of Ezza North Local Government Area.
