Holyghost Foundation School has honoured the Wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs. Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, by naming its Library and Science Laboratory after her during activities marking the school’s 50th anniversary and Founder’s Day celebration.
Responding to the honour, Mrs. Nwifuru expressed profound gratitude to the management, staff, students, alumni, and the entire Holyghost Foundation School community for the recognition, describing it as a memorable and humbling experience.

Emphasising the importance of education in nation-building, the Ebonyi First Lady quoted the late South African statesman, Nelson Mandela, saying, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”She noted that education remains
the foundation upon which individuals, communities, and nations are built, commending Holyghost Foundation School for its remarkable contribution to educational development over the past five decades.
According to her, the institution has consistently shaped lives, nurtured dreams, and raised generations of young people who continue to make meaningful contributions to society.

Mrs. Nwifuru described her participation in the school’s golden jubilee celebration as both a privilege and a delight, adding that she was deeply humbled by the decision to name the school’s Library and Science Laboratory after her.
“Joining the Holyghost Foundation School for this landmark celebration is both a privilege and a delight. As you celebrate fifty years of shaping lives and commemorate Founder’s Day, I am sincerely humbled by the honour of having the School Library and Science Laboratory named after me. My heartfelt thanks to the entire school community for this memorable recognition,” she said.

She expressed optimism that the celebration would inspire even greater achievements for the institution and prayed that the Library and Science Laboratory would continue to serve as centres for learning, innovation, and excellence for generations to come.
“May this celebration inspire even greater achievements, and may the Library and Science Laboratory continue to nurture knowledge, innovation, and excellence for generations to come,” Mrs. Nwifuru added.
