Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has sworn in two new commissioners and a Special Assistant as part of efforts to strengthen his administration’s commitment to effective governance and improved service delivery across the state.
The appointments were made during the State Executive Council meeting presided over by the governor.

The newly inaugurated officials are Prof. Amari Omaka, SAN, who was sworn in as Commissioner for Tertiary Education; Hon. Sylvester Nwenegwu Nwite, Commissioner for Environment; and Hon. Njoku Onyekachi Felix, Special Assistant on Youth Mobilization.
Speaking during the ceremony, Governor Nwifuru urged the new appointees to regard their appointments as a call to selfless service and to work diligently towards advancing his administration’s vision of building a greater and more prosperous Ebonyi State.

The Executive Council also approved a strategic cabinet reshuffle aimed at repositioning key ministries for greater efficiency and enhanced service delivery.
Under the reshuffle, Hon. Chidi Onyia was redeployed from the Ministry of Solid Minerals to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, while Dr. (Mrs.) Ngozi Obichukwu moved from the Ministry of Aviation to the Ministry of Special Projects.

Prof. Nwogo Obasi Ajuka was reassigned from the Ministry of Market Development to the Ministry of Skill Acquisition and Job Creation, with Hon. Okwu Oko Udu moving in the opposite direction to head the Ministry of Market Development.
Hon. Magnus C. Nkah was transferred from the Ministry of Water Resources to the Ministry of Solid Minerals, while Hon. Richard Ugo Idike was moved from the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development to the Ministry of Capital City Development.

Chief Sunday Elechi Inyima was redeployed from the Ministry of Capital City Development to the Ministry of Project Monitoring, while Hon. Victor Chukwu was reassigned from the Ministry of Environment to the Ministry of Water Resources.
Governor Nwifuru also commended members of the State Executive Council and the people of Ebonyi State for what he described as the successful and historic endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reaffirming the state’s commitment to progressive leadership and national development.
He called on all public office holders to remain focused, dedicated, and committed to delivering the dividends of democracy in line with his administration’s Peoples Charter of Needs agenda.
