The Federal Commissioner representing Ebonyi State in the Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Henry Nduka Awuregu, has described the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru as a “silent revolution” that is steadily transforming Ebonyi State through strategic investments in infrastructure, education, healthcare, industrialisation and human capital development.
Awuregu said the governor’s policies and programmes are repositioning the state for sustainable growth and prosperity while improving the living conditions of residents across various sectors.
Speaking on the achievements of the administration, he noted that Governor Nwifuru has restored hope to thousands of retirees through the payment of retirement benefits dating back to the creation of Ebonyi State in 1996.
He added that workers’ welfare has also received significant attention through salary enhancements and other incentives aimed at improving productivity and service delivery.
According to the RMAFC commissioner, the administration has demonstrated a strong commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector through the provision of operational vehicles for medical personnel, the equipping of hospitals with modern facilities, advanced diagnostic equipment and emergency ambulances.
Awuregu identified the completion of the Ebonyi International Airport as one of the landmark projects of the administration, noting that the facility is expected to attract investment, boost tourism, enhance agricultural value chains and stimulate commercial activities across the state.
He also commended the government’s investment in education, citing increased subventions to tertiary institutions, ongoing infrastructural development at the University of ICT, Oferekpe, and the University of Aeronautic Engineering, Onueke, as well as scholarship programmes designed to support Ebonyi students both within and outside Nigeria.
The commissioner disclosed that more than 400 beneficiaries are currently pursuing postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom under the state’s scholarship scheme, while over 1,000 students are benefiting from various scholarship programmes in Nigerian universities.
On economic development, Awuregu pointed to the operationalisation of the Ebonyi Pulverisation Plant, the Pipe Production Factory, and investments in the state’s hatchery and fertiliser industries as clear indications of the administration’s commitment to industrial growth and job creation.
He further praised the ongoing road construction projects across communities in the state, noting that improved road networks are enhancing connectivity and facilitating economic activities in both rural and urban areas.
The commissioner also highlighted the administration’s housing schemes, empowerment programmes for small and medium-scale enterprises, and sustained investments in education and healthcare as critical foundations for building a prosperous and inclusive society.
Awuregu urged residents to continue supporting Governor Nwifuru’s vision for the state, stressing that the achievements recorded so far reflect purposeful leadership and a genuine commitment to improving the lives of the people.
He added that peace, unity and inclusive governance remain central to the administration’s development agenda and are essential for sustaining progress.
“The transformation taking place across Ebonyi today is a testament to visionary leadership. Governor Nwifuru is building a state where opportunities are expanding, institutions are growing, and the welfare of the people remains a priority,” Awuregu stated.
