The Ebonyi State Government has intensified its investment in education with the construction of 56 modern 12-classroom blocks across the state as part of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s commitment to improving learning infrastructure and strengthening the foundation of basic education.
The classroom projects, being executed through the Ebonyi State Universal Basic Education Board (UBEB), are designed to provide pupils with a conducive learning environment while complementing the ongoing construction of 22-classroom model secondary schools across the state.

The initiative reflects the administration’s determination to ensure that children receive quality education from the earliest stages of learning, recognizing that strong educational outcomes are built on a solid foundation.
According to the state government, the new classroom blocks will replace overcrowded and aging facilities with modern structures that promote effective teaching and learning. The projects are also expected to provide teachers with improved working conditions, thereby enhancing the delivery of quality education.

The government noted that while the model secondary schools are redefining standards for post-primary education, equal attention is being given to basic education, where every child’s academic journey begins.
Officials described the intervention as a strategic investment in the future of Ebonyi’s children, emphasizing that the benefits will extend beyond the present generation by equipping young learners with the knowledge and opportunities needed to succeed.
The administration said the combined construction of the 56 UBEB classroom blocks and the 22-classroom model secondary schools demonstrates Governor Nwifuru’s comprehensive approach to educational development, aimed at strengthening the entire learning process from primary to secondary education.
The projects form part of the government’s broader agenda to improve access to quality education, expand educational infrastructure, and create a lasting legacy through sustained investment in human capital development.
