The BERWO Foundation’s Pad a Girl Campaign has continued to expand its reach across Ebonyi State, extending its life-changing intervention to Ivo and Ohaozara Local Government Areas, where hundreds of secondary school students benefited from the distribution of sanitary pads and educational materials.
The initiative, championed by the wife of the Ebonyi State Governor, Mrs. Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, saw schoolgirls receive sanitary pads alongside Teenage Companion books aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene, personal development, and self-confidence. Male students were also provided with educational books to encourage positive character development and learning.

Mrs. Nwifuru expressed delight over the successful implementation of the programme in the two local government areas, describing the campaign as a vital investment in the health, education, and future of the girl-child in Ebonyi State.
She commended the Chairperson of Ivo Local Government Area, Mrs. Ajah Emmanuella, and the Chairperson of Ohaozara Local Government Area, Mrs. Chineye Consider, for their exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to ensuring the success of the initiative.

The Governor’s wife also applauded the BERWO teams in both local government areas for their dedication, hard work, and passion in reaching young people with the programme’s message of empowerment and support.
According to her, the BERWO Foundation remains committed to promoting the well-being of children, particularly the girl-child, by providing the resources and guidance they need to thrive academically, socially, and personally.

She reaffirmed the foundation’s resolve to sustain the Pad a Girl Campaign across Ebonyi State, emphasizing that empowering young girls today is essential to building a stronger, healthier, and more prosperous future for the state.
The BERWO Pad a Girl Campaign is one of the foundation’s flagship initiatives aimed at addressing menstrual hygiene challenges, reducing stigma, and promoting education and confidence among adolescent girls while encouraging positive values among boys.
