The Ebonyi State Civil Service Commission has scheduled a four-day mop-up exercise for the confirmation of appointment of officers who were not captured during the earlier confirmation exercise.
The exercise, which is scheduled to commence on Monday, October 5, 2026, will cover Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) across the state.
According to a notice issued by the Special Assistant to the Governor on New Media, Leo Ekene Oketa, affected officers are expected to appear on the date assigned to their respective MDAs.
The first day of the exercise, Monday, October 5, will cover the Internal Revenue Board; Ministries of Education; Market Development; Information; Youth Development; Budget, Planning, Research and Monitoring; Trade and Investment; Housing and Urban Development; Commerce and Industry; Aviation; Project Monitoring; Human Capital Development; Justice; Works; Culture and Tourism; Tertiary Education; Lands and Survey, as well as the College of Health, Ngbo, Auditor-General for Local Governments, Surveyor-General, Ebonyi State Fertilizer and Chemical Company, Ebonyi State Library Board and Ebonyi State Investment and Property.
The State Hospitals Management Board is scheduled for Tuesday, October 6, while Wednesday, October 7, is set aside for the Ministries of Environment and Agriculture, as well as the Office of the Head of Service.
The final day, Thursday, October 8, will cover a wide range of MDAs, including the Ministries of Health; Local Government and Chieftaincy; Rural Development; Solid Minerals; Special Duties; Internal Security; Finance; Capital and Urban Development; ICT; Skill Development and Job Creation; Water Resources; Grants and Donor Agency; Commerce and Industry; Border Peace and Conflict Resolution; Inter-Party Affairs; Power and Energy, as well as the Governor’s and Chief of Staff’s Office, State Auditor-General, Scholarship Board, EBSHIA, Deputy Governor’s Office, Secretary to the State Government, Liaison Offices in Abuja and Lagos, and EBIMA.
The Commission advised all affected officers to take note of the date assigned to their respective MDAs and ensure their participation in the mop-up exercise.
The exercise is part of the Ebonyi State Government’s efforts, through the Civil Service Commission, to ensure that all eligible officers are duly captured in the confirmation process.
The notice stated that the exercise aligns with the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s emphasis on the dignity of labour, career progression and the welfare of workers, as well as efforts to strengthen the state civil service for improved productivity and effective service delivery.
