As the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign train moves into Ohaozara Local Government Area ahead of the forthcoming Local Government Council elections in Ebonyi State, the party has presented Engr. Osborn Nweze Umahi as its chairmanship candidate.
Engr. Umahi, a young professional with experience spanning engineering, finance, corporate management and the energy sector, is being positioned as a new-generation leader with the competence and exposure required to provide effective grassroots leadership.
He holds a degree in Civil Engineering and an MSc in Financial Management from the University of Aberdeen. His professional career has included engagements with some of Nigeria’s leading institutions, including the Asset Management Corporation of Nigeria (AMCON), United Bank for Africa (UBA) and the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), where he gained experience in finance, corporate management and the energy industry.
For the past five years, Umahi has also been actively involved in the administration of Osborn Group, a multi-sector enterprise with interests in hospitality, construction and oil services. The experience, according to his supporters, has further strengthened his leadership, administrative and management capabilities.
His profile combines academic qualifications with professional exposure and practical management experience, attributes the APC believes will position him to effectively serve the people of Ohaozara if elected.
His emergence as the APC chairmanship candidate also reflects the administration’s emphasis on creating opportunities for young and capable professionals to participate actively in governance.
The development aligns with the leadership vision of the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, which has continued to encourage the participation of younger Nigerians in leadership and public service.
With his background in engineering, financial management, corporate administration and the private sector, Engr. Osborn Nweze Umahi enters the Ohaozara chairmanship race with a profile centred on youthful energy, professional competence and administrative experience.
