Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector by implementing the latest Consolidated Medical Salary Structure (CONMESS) for medical doctors serving in general hospitals across Ebonyi State.
The initiative forms part of the Governor’s broader healthcare reform agenda under the People’s Charter of Needs, which prioritizes not only the provision of modern health infrastructure and recruitment of qualified personnel but also the welfare and motivation of healthcare workers.
With the implementation of the revised CONMESS, medical doctors in Ebonyi State’s general hospitals will now earn salaries comparable to those of their counterparts in federal health institutions across Nigeria. The policy is expected to improve the state’s ability to attract, retain, and motivate highly skilled medical professionals.
The government noted that competitive remuneration is essential to boosting the morale and productivity of healthcare workers, ultimately translating into improved healthcare services for residents of the state.
