Deputy Governor of Ebonyi State, Princess Patricia Onyemaechi Obila, has congratulated the newly inaugurated Executive Chairmen and Vice Chairmen of the state’s 13 Local Government Areas, urging them to uphold their oaths of office and deliver meaningful development at the grassroots.
Obila, in a congratulatory message following the inauguration, described the successful transition as a moment of joy and fulfillment, while commending Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for providing what she described as a transparent and level playing field for all political parties during the local government election.
She also commended the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission (EBSIEC) for conducting a free, fair, peaceful and credible election.
The Deputy Governor expressed appreciation to the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Chief Stanley Okoro Emegha, as well as the LGA Campaign Council under the leadership of Amb. Chief Frank Nchita Ogbuewu, for adhering to electoral guidelines and successfully completing the campaign exercise.
Obila further acknowledged the contributions of stakeholders, including the Minister of Works, Senator Engr. David Nweze Umahi, CON; Speaker of the Ebonyi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Moses Odunwa; serving National and State Assembly members; women and youth support groups; and the people of Ebonyi State who participated in the statewide campaign tour.
She appreciated the electorate for what she described as their overwhelming support for the APC across the 13 Local Government Areas.
Addressing the newly inaugurated council chairmen, Obila charged them to demonstrate dedication, accountability and commitment to the people, stressing that they occupy a critical position in advancing Governor Nwifuru’s People’s Charter of Needs agenda.
She urged the new council leaders to prioritise grassroots development, peace, security and projects that would have a direct and positive impact on rural communities.
“Congratulations to us all,” the Deputy Governor said.
