The wife of the Governor of Ebonyi State and founder of the BERWO Foundation, Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, has reaffirmed her commitment to promoting menstrual hygiene, preserving the dignity of young girls, and supporting their education through the foundation’s ongoing Pad a Girl Campaign across communities in Abakaliki Local Government Area.
Mrs. Nwifuru expressed delight over the positive impact the initiative has continued to make, noting that the campaign is empowering girls with menstrual hygiene products and education while encouraging them to remain confident and focused on their academic pursuits.

She commended the Chairperson of Abakaliki Local Government Area, Lydia Nwogba, for her partnership and steadfast support, describing her commitment to the welfare of women and girls as exemplary.
The First Lady also praised members of the BERWO Foundation team for their dedication, passion, and hard work in ensuring the successful implementation of the campaign across the local government area.

According to her, the foundation remains committed to breaking barriers that hinder girls’ development and creating opportunities that enable them to thrive with dignity, confidence, and equal access to education.
She reiterated that the BERWO Foundation will continue to expand initiatives aimed at empowering young girls and improving their well-being across Ebonyi State, while expressing gratitude to all partners and volunteers whose contributions have sustained the campaign’s success.

The Pad a Girl Campaign is one of the BERWO Foundation’s flagship initiatives focused on improving menstrual hygiene awareness, reducing period poverty, and promoting the health, dignity, and educational advancement of adolescent girls across Ebonyi State.
