Comrade Scientist Eze Paul Ituma (Ngbolizhia), the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship candidate for Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, has emerged as a grassroots politician with a strong record of youth leadership, community mobilisation and public service.
Born on August 24, 1985, and a native of Umuogudu Oshia Ngbo in Ohaukwu LGA, Ituma is a trained Medical Laboratory Scientist. He studied at Ebonyi State University and undertook his professional internship at FETHA 2, now known as FUTHA 2.
His leadership career began during his years of student activism and has since expanded into community development and political engagement. He served as Coordinator of Ngbolizhia Students, National President of the National Association of Ohaukwu Students (NAOS), Chairman of the National Association of Nigerian Students Joint Campus Committee (NANS-JCC), Ebonyi State, and Director of Sports for NANS Zone B.
Beyond student unionism, Ituma served as Coordinator of the Akunaraoha Youth Assembly (AYA), Ohaukwu Chapter, and later became Chairman of the AYA Coordinators’ Forum in Ebonyi State.
His public service experience also includes serving as Technical Assistant to the former Governor on Youth Mobilization and Development, Zonal Coordinator of the FON Youth Movement for Ebonyi North, and Special Assistant to Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru on Youth Mobilization, Ebonyi North Zone.
With this extensive background in youth engagement, grassroots mobilisation and public service, Ituma has now secured the APC ticket to contest for the chairmanship of Ohaukwu Local Government Area.
His candidacy is being presented by the party as part of a broader emphasis on youthful, experienced and energetic leadership under the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru.
As the APC campaign train arrives in Ohaukwu, the party is expected to showcase a candidate whose political journey has been closely connected to young people and grassroots communities.
For supporters of the APC, Ituma’s candidacy represents the emergence of a leader shaped by years of service, community engagement and political mobilisation, with aspirations to translate that experience into greater responsibility at the local government level.
Ohaukwu, therefore, welcomes Ngbolizhia — a leader whose journey from student activism to public service has positioned him for a new chapter in grassroots leadership.
