Hon. Mrs. Helen Nnenna Aduga has emerged as a strong contender for the chairmanship of Izzi Local Government Area, bringing to the race a wealth of experience spanning education, grassroots administration and public service.
Born on November 18, 1983, at Igbuhu Otuma Village in Ndiebor Ezzainyimagu Autonomous Community, Aduga is a graduate of Biology Education and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in the same field.
Before venturing into politics and public administration, she served as a teacher under the Secondary Education Board, where she was actively involved in educating, mentoring and shaping the lives of young people.
Her transition into public leadership further broadened her experience. She served as Secretary of Izzi Local Government Area from 2017 to 2023 and was subsequently elected and sworn in as Vice Chairman of the council in September 2023.
Through these positions, Aduga acquired practical experience in local government administration, coordination and grassroots governance, strengthening her understanding of the needs and aspirations of the people at the local level.
Her track record has now earned her the confidence of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which has presented her as its chairmanship candidate for Izzi Local Government Area.
Her candidacy is being positioned as a continuation of her longstanding commitment to public service and an opportunity to bring her experience, energy and grassroots knowledge to bear on the administration of Izzi.
It also aligns with the administration of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s emphasis on developing capable leaders and creating opportunities for competent individuals to contribute to the growth and development of Ebonyi State.
As the APC campaign moves toward its grand finale at Iboko, headquarters of Izzi LGA, attention is increasingly focused on the party’s candidate and the experience she brings to the contest.
From the classroom to grassroots administration, Helen Nnenna Aduga’s journey has been defined by service and leadership. Her candidacy marks what supporters describe as a new chapter in her commitment to the people of Izzi Local Government Area.
