Ebonyi State Governor, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, has sworn in five new appointees into strategic positions in the state government, charging them to contribute meaningfully to the implementation of his administration’s People’s Charter of Needs.
The swearing-in ceremony, held at the Executive Council Chambers of the Government House, Abakaliki, witnessed the inauguration of two Permanent Secretaries, two Senior Special Assistants and one Special Assistant to the Governor.
Governor Nwifuru described the appointments as part of efforts to strengthen the state’s administrative machinery and enhance efficiency in governance.
He urged the new appointees to deploy their experience, expertise and integrity toward improving service delivery and meeting the expectations of the people.
According to the governor, the appointments were made to ensure that capable hands are strategically positioned to support the implementation of government programmes and policies.
“With more hands on deck, we expand our bandwidth to deliver. Ebonyi people deserve results, not excuses. These appointments are about putting round pegs in round holes to accelerate the implementation of the People’s Charter of Needs,” Nwifuru said.
He further charged the appointees to commence work immediately and remain committed to the responsibilities entrusted to them.
“To whom much is given, much is expected. You are coming in at a time when the tempo of governance is high. Hit the ground running. The people are watching, and history will judge us all,” he added.
The governor’s latest appointments come as his administration continues to focus on infrastructure development, human capital development and improved public service delivery across Ebonyi State’s 13 local government areas.
The new appointees are expected to strengthen the government’s capacity to implement its development agenda and deepen the delivery of projects and programmes under the People’s Charter of Needs.
The ceremony was attended by government officials, political stakeholders and other dignitaries.
